The Mattress Tester has been developed to subject mattresses to fatiguing using a weighted roller. Measurements are taken before and after the fatiguing process to determine the physical changes to the mattress.
Test Method
For BS7397 a triangular roller is used to fatigue the mattress. The profile is measured at two points across the mattress, before and after fatiguing. The ‘Profile Loss’ is automatically calculated using the tester software. For BS EN 1957 a cylindrical roller fatigues the mattress. The deflection against load curve is measured at the centre point and is used to determine the height and hardness loss.
