Carpet Pile Height Gauges

Set of steel measurement gauges for manually checking carpet pile thickness. The flat stainless steel gauges are inserted into the pile. By using successive gauges, the gauge nearest the pile length can be determined. The measuring range is 3 to 25mm in 1mm steps.

WIRA Tuft Length Measurement Apparatus

The apparatus consists of a Tuft Length Block, a Perspex block with V-shape grooves, glass rods and metal ruler. At least 20 tufts are removed from the sample. The individual tufts are straightened and placed in the appropriate groove. The glass rod is placed over the tuft and the length is measured using the ruler.
