WIRA Tog Tester

The Thermal Resistance is an important factor in the performance of a continental quilt (duvet/comforter). The thermal resistance is referred to as the Tog value. The WIRA Tog Tester complies with the specification as described in BS 5335 Part 1. The quilt is laid flat on top of the heated table. Temperature measuring sensors are mounted within the table to measure the temperature above and below the hot plate. A further set of sensors are positioned above the quilt, the height above the quilt can be adjusted. A PC based monitoring system records the data from the sensors and a simple display enables the operator to ensure that the apparatus is set up correctly for each test. The tog reading is calculated by the PC.
